As we age, we might lose bone density and some muscle strength; our reaction time, balance and coordination might decline; range of motion in our joint will decrease and we might lose muscle mass. Your physiotherapist will assess your condition and administers an exercise program including cardiovascular, strengthening of specific muscle groups, and flexibility exercises for you plus exercises to improve your balance if required. Most of the exercises can be performed at home and independently with some safety precautions. You might be asked to come back to the clinic from time to time for the reassessment of your condition, where your physiotherapist will modify or advance your exercises to ensure the desired improvement is maintained.
